Residents have Tuesday and Wednesday morning lectures throughout the academic year. Both residents and faculty from the ENT department cover topics from each specialty area in a comprehensive manner. Since ENT covers disease that is mutual to other specialties, speakers from several other departments are included in the lecture series. This includes neurology, dentistry, speech pathology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, trauma, sleep medicine, anesthesiology and others.
One goal is to prepare for the annual resident written in-service exam. The later part of the year also focuses on preparation for the oral board exam to ultimately achieve certification by the American Board of Otolaryngology upon graduation.
